The Flawless sim is still celebrating it’s 12 days of Christmas celebration and this skin called Nessima 02E by Style By Kira is out for free. This is only free til noon SL time when it become 200L which is still a sales price. Then another skin comes out for between 0 and 20L.  This is found in the card in front of the Style By Kira store.

Almost every store in the sim has a cart out with freebies  or close to it, and great sale items. I’ll be bringing you a peek at  a selection of them every day til Christmas.

Unique Clothing as a bright and cheerful holiday gift for 0L called Candy Cane that I think will appeal to everyone.  After Christmas even if you aren’t in the mood for a full dress, it would make a great top with jeans and you can wear or not wear the cute prim candy canes. I love seasonal stuff that can be made not seasonal!

The skin I’m wearing in this is from the Style by Kira booth and is on sale there, it’s her Elora Skin, Daphine Edition – 01A. It’s selling for 200L and there are free demos for you to try to see if you like it.

This beautiful dress is from Adam n Eve, and is on sale for 150L. I love the details in this gown, like the lace edging at the bottom of the skirt.  After all the red and green, it’s nice to put on some Christmas Gold. This gown is called Enchanting Gold. It has a lot of different layers and options.

This is the tea length version of the Enchanting Gold gown, which another of the ways to wear the gown above.  Only a British designer would think of a tea time dress, but I love it. It’s not a wonder that Adam n Eve are one of my favourite shops.

Adam n Eve have a lot of things on sale on their cart like all the designers, but they also have this gift item, a sexy panty and corset set for the ladies. There is a boxer set for the men. This is a free gift for 0L.

You know, I normally hate anything with drawn on buckles, because no matter which way your avatar is, the buckles always seem to be different sizes, if not outright twisted and deformed. It is really a sign of how well Sashi knows how the SL bodies move that she was able to place these buckles in a position that when I went through at least 40 poses looking for a pose that looked good for the hair and the corset  (the hair is awesome, I had to use the hair), I did not see one pose that made these buckles look weird in any way. That really impressed me.

The nipple pasties worn here do not come from the gift, they are worn to keep from shocking the children, and are from a set I got at Free Speerit a long time ago. No longer for sale as that store as closed.

Other Items

Hair in photo 2 – Loq – Cheese Cake – 100L a colour pack. 300L for a fatpack. Who doesn’t know and love Loq hair, not much I can say beyond how great it always looks.

Hair in Photo 3 & 4 – Loq - Pudding – 100L a colour pack and 300L a fatpack. I love this bang. It’s perfect!

Hair in Photo 1 & 5 – After finding such a fantastic hair yesterday at Likeli, I had to go back today and see what else looked great. Well this HUGE afro was incredibly easy to fall in love with. It comes with 2 different options for hair bases for women and one for a guy, and then two prim hairs that you wear together to make a huge thick softly waving fro. Amazing! Only 190L.

Eyes – The eyes I’m wearing are from Aphotic Gloom and I’ll probably keep wearing them til I go to his shop and buy a new favourite pair…until then..they are mine and I’m not taking them off! hey are from his Clarus Collection which sells for 199L. I love all the eyes in this pack, they come in large and small, with prim and a special iris free eye, which I’m not sure what that is for..probably something to do with prim eyes which I haven’t switched to yet.

The Flawless Sim is having a 12 Days Of Christmas event and all the stores in the sim are having special Christmas Carts outside the stores where you can find special sale items and even some free or near free gifts.  Style By Kira is changing skins every day and putting one on near free. This is out right now and is called Nessima skin 02D and is 20L.

This shiny beauty of a dress is from 1 Hundred and is called Friday Night Red.  It’s on sale for 100L, and comes on all layers with a prim for the skirt. There is a lot of attention to detail in this dress. The skirt prim works wonderfully, I didn’t have to fiddle forever to find a pose that worked for it, it was hard to find a pose that didn’t work with it. I love the draping that is drawn on, which I imagine must be hard with a sparkly texture like this. Most designers have enough trouble with shadowing in a flat texture, let alone something where the play of light and dark is this complicated.

Besides, what matters the most is feeling, when I put this one, I just felt like putting on my Mandala nails and going dancing.  What more can you ask for in a party dress?

1 Hundred also has a Christmas gift all wrapped up in a pretty box for those that come shopping. It’s the pretty slit skirt I’m wearing in the photo above. It pairs perfectly with my Sn@tch Black and White Silky Cami.  Don’t forget to pick this gift up when you go to buy your little red dress.

This sexy lingerie is from Orquidea and is called Red Sheer Lingerie and is on sale for 100L.  I love all the perfect little details on this lingerie. The beautfully done line down the back. The transition line between the gripping lace at the top of the stocking to the regular stocking material. You see this on every real pair of stockings but rarely see it in SL stockings. The shoulders on this bra are perfectly matched…not a wiggle…not a millimeter out…and the strap thins as it goes around, as the lace moves to just elastic.  It might just be me, but the line between the satin and the lace on the bra gives it the illusion that the lace is almost a collar, which it isn’t, but I like the look. You can get cheaper lingerie out there, but they there aren’t many sets in SL that look like this. I almost made a quote about swinging at a cat and not hitting one, but fortunately I stopped..can’t get on the wrong side of Peta.

This is the first skin that Style By Kira put out at a discount, it’s now out for 200L, for those that didn’t get it the first day. Make sure you get there every day from now on so you don’t miss the rest of these great skins!

Non-sale items

Gos Pimp Your Pumps – Classic Platforms – Photo 3 – I love these shoes, you can wear them with stockings or just put them on and go without the worry of matching colour…come with a big assortment of different bows you can set with a wide variety of colours. 495 a shoe set. They have added colour palettes you can buy for just 100L each for 3 colours. Gos group members get 10% off.

Hair – Photo 1,2,3 – Likeli – Black Curly Fro – 195L – Wow…fantastic hair style, has now taken over as my favourite afro. I watched Chris Rock’s movie “Good Hair” and saw all those beautiful Black women paying horrid amounts of money to get weaves for straight hair, and here I come to SL to get a fantastic afros. I remember getting a perm when I was 16 to get a great Afro. Killed my hair and it fell out in buckets so I never did that again. Everyone always wants what they weren’t born with. Humans are contrary creatures.

Photo 2, 3 – Mandala Nail Palate 1 – Medium – These nails are fantastic – 70 different colours, they come in  4 hand sizes, 5 shapes, full bright on and off, everything you could ever want in nails for only 597L. Everyone I talked to said these are the best, and I haven’t seen anything to make me doubt that.

Hair – Photo 4,5 – Calico Ingmann Creations – Maggie Midnight Black – This short hair has wonderful movement and poof, for a lack of a better word.  It comes with a texture change hud, mirrored copy and optional streaks. Colour packs are 200L each, including my favourite the Calico Picks pack which has 20 different colours in it. The fatpack is 1,000L and contains all 19 packs most of which have at least 10 colours.

Eyes – The eyes I’m wearing in this photo set are from Aphotic Gloom called Buttercup. They are from his Clarus Collection which sells for 199L. I love all the eyes in this pack, they come in large and small, with prim and a special iris free eye, which I’m not sure what that is for..probably something to do with prim eyes which I haven’t switched to yet.  His eyes are a joy to wear because they aren’t subject to too many red spots or gray sides that seem to plague most eye makers. I get tired of looking like I have red eye half the time.

Indie Rose is unfortunately closing it’s doors on January 01, 1912. This is one of my favourite stores, and it saddens me that it will not be here anymore. Hopefully Angelina will find time in her life once again for it, and it will reopen.

The bright side of this is that if you haven’t tried her amazing skin line you can now do it for less.  Indie Rose has the most fantastic system for skin in SL.  A lot of shops are either turning out skins with tattoos for all the make up options  or the make up on a lot of different skins. These options are great but they do 2 things. 1 – They fill up your inventory with a lot of items, and 2 – having a lot of different tattoos to wear is not great if your like the majority of people and still use one of the varieties of V1 game engines out there and are limited to 1 tattoo at a time.

Indie Rose has combined these two systems, skins and tattoos, but has put the tattoos on a hud system, which provides you all the make up options you will ever need. I’ll show you the hud a little later but first let’s have a peek at the skin behind it all. The Emma skin.

This beautiful skin, with the lovely lines in the body is called Emma. This is the tan, version but it also comes in Pale, Fair and Dark. These are your clear skin options. There are 16 skins in each shade pack and they are normally 1,100L a pack but are now on sale for 550L. There are lips closed and open showing teeth versions of each skin, 4 brow colours, and each skin is also available in a cleavage version. This lets you get your skin exactly the way you want it without using any extra tattoos for those important basics like eyebrows.  If your like me and never wear teeth, you can toss out those right away and have half the space in your inventory. I would of course recommend making a back up inventory box of everything first before tossing anything. One never knows when one’s mind will change.  It happens.

This is the hud the comes with the seasons packs. This is the spring pack, but they basic look is the same for each season only the make up changes. With this hud you can pick out whatever make up you want, click it with your mouse, it will be delivered to you in a file, and you can put it on wherever you are. When you are done with it, delete it. No need to keep the file in your inventory as it can be reacquired again with another click of the mouse. You can choose to take the entire face make up in either the full or basic make up. The full make up is more of an evening wear with a more intense shadow. These are perfect for those using V1 versions of SL who can only wear 1 tattoo at a time. If you are using V2 and want to mix and match. You can choose to take the shadow off of one make up and the lipstick from another, and the seasons blush, and mascara and liner and mix and match your own make up.

The make up packs can be bought individually for 120L each normally but are on sale for 50L  or by a season with 6 make up packs in each season for 520L but are on sale for an UNBELIEVABLE 150L.

Lingerie – Attitudes Lingerie – Assas White – This lingerie comes in a variety of layers, and two different bottom options – fuller panty or Tanga (thong) option.  There are 5 colours in the Assas line. White, Plum, Red, Black and Taupe. Even the stockings come in a wide variety of shades. With Attitudes you really get a lot more then you pay for.  Only 195L a pack.

Pose Prop – This was photographed in BehaviorBody’s pose prop “Glam Corner” which sells for 199L. I love their pose props, great prices, great looks.

Shoes – [Gos] Pimp Your Pumps – Classic Platforms – I love these shoes, they are colour change with bows and ties that you can add on or leave off, and they are colour change too. The basic shoe pack is 495L and there are 5 colour update packs for 100L each. This colour is from one of the update packs called Fruits.  It’s worth noting that members get 10% off all sales.

Eyes – These gorgeous eyes are by Aphotic Gloom, which is a funny name for a store which makes eyes the make you shine, but hey, to each their own. These eyes are called Jordan and are part of the Claris Special Edition Eye Collection 3, which has 4 wonderful eyes in it, for only 199L.  Heck Jordan isn’t even my favourite colour in it, Buttercup, a gorgeous mix of gray, blue and green is. I find it hard to find eyes that aren’t ruined by gray shadows, red veins or corners of the eyes that have horrid colouration when  you look to the side, which with my AO happens a lot. I swear I toss out half the eyes I buy, so it’s wonderful to find a shop that makes beautiful eyes, without any of these flaws. I would hardily recommend this shop to anyone.

This week I got my hand on some great new shorts and pants from Izzie’s. My mind started to go into what I could put with them. Then as luck had it, SLink showed a preview of her new mesh thigh high boots. I just had to wait til they were out and and try to do a great short and boot combo.

As you can see, these new boots, Tall Thigh Boots,  from SLink were well worth the wait, they are sex on two feet. If you haven’t got mesh because you don’t want to deal with the Version2 of SL you can still have mesh. These photos were taken with Cool VL Viewer, a viewer I’ve been  using for over a year. It’s V1 but has mesh, alpha layers and tattoos. If you want it, just click here for the website. You can also use Astra (V1), Kristens (V2), the Official SL Viewer (V3) and as of today, Firestorm, the V2 version of Phoenix to see mesh.

Now as you probably have heard, mesh as it stands today, can not be modified in any way. You have to modify your shape to fit the mesh item, not the other way around. With boots that’s can be as simple as modifying your leg muscles. I had to move mine from 58 to 52 to fit the curvy version of the boot.  With a change that small I didn’t notice any real difference in my shape at all, so it was easy to make a version of my shape called Slink Tall Thigh Boots and leave it in the boot folder. The boot comes in 4 different sizes to minimize the amount of change you will have to do to fit the boot, and it comes with a notecard which give the exact shape needed to fit all 4, so no guessing, you can just plug the numbers in.  SLink also provides a free demo so that you can try it on before you decide to buy, which with mesh is more important then ever.

You wouldn’t think mesh would do much for shoes, but while the difference is subtle, it’s there. Look at the way the leather wrinkles when the knee partially and fully bends in the above pictures. The wrinkles grow organically, looking natural in each photo. Something you would never get with even the best sculptie boot, even if you could get the separate halfs you would have to use, to mesh perfectly. Which never does happen.

This boot comes in 10 colours – Black, Purple, Chocolate, Red, Cream, Silver, Gold, Tan, Pink and of course, White. They are 700L each or you can buy the whole shooting match for 50% off, or 3500L. If your smarter then I was, you can remember to put your SLink group up and get 10% back on purchases.  I bought two pairs and forgot on both. Oh well, I never said my brain actually worked, did I?

The next part of the outfit was decisions, decisions, decisions! Izzie’s has some patterned tights. She has two sets, with 13 in each set. Now everyone knows that 13 isn’t a lucky number. So of COURSE you have to buy both sets so you have 26 pairs to choose from. It’s basic logic. Owning 26 of these beauties is very lucky. Plus at 150L a set, who can say no to either of them. These are great tights. You have the choice of ending at the ankle or full footed. But let me tell you, trying to pick from 26 pairs was no easy task. I ended up getting a male friend from Italy…everyone knows Italians know stockings, right?…to help. Ok, so maybe I did just want a man looking at my legs for an hour. Sue me.

I ended up choosing Desert from the first collection, but Floral from Collection 2 gave it a run for it’s money. I love the big Jacobean floral and leave swirls and against all expectations, it actually looked good with this.

Next came the item of clothing that started all this, the shorts. The latest item out this week from Izzie’s is some jean fabric shorts and pants.  I find jeans almost as tricky to find the perfect pair of in SL as they are in RL. The prim legs look weird on most of them when your honest about it, or the non-prim leg can be too wide and you get sausage tube leg inside. Waist is too high or as happens in SL the waist is too low – very very very too low.  Often in SL as more ass cracks in view then there is at a plumbers convention.  Then there is always the “They look great, but they are ripped”. I’m sorry, I’ve never seen the sense in ripped clothing. With jeans there is also something else that sneaks in.  People do photos of jeans and import them into SL, without doing any hand texturing of them. Somehow when you wear something made like that, it looks while you are wearing a picture of a pair of jeans, not a pair of jeans. I don’t know how to explain it any better then that.

These shorts and the jeans are great. They aren’t overly high as you can see, but there is definitely no butt crack showing, not even a hint, not a whisper. They are wonderfully detailed, look like perfect pairs of jeans, without at all looking like a photo. They have wonderful shading, looking like comfortably worn jeans They come in a 10 different shades for each set, at 120L a pair or 960L for a fatpack of either the jean shorts or the skinny jeans. I’m wearing the shorts in black.

The black lace bra with the small white buttons is from Attitudes. It is from their new bra and panty line called Jussieu. This set comes with a regular bra and a strapless bra both on shirt and undershirt layer, and a thong on underwear and pant layer. It’s only 175L a set.  It is no copy/transfer for easy gift giving. There are also several group gifts there, and the group is free to join. It has such a great group title that you won’t want to leave. Woman with an Attitude. Isn’t that all of us?

It’s easy to get a lot of crappy free lingerie in SL, but it’s not easy to get bra’s and panties that look like bra’s and panties you would buy in a store in real life. In this store everything they make fits that description.

The white blouse I’m wearing is called the Araplain Blouse by LeeZu Baxter. This pretty open front blouse is 280L, comes in all the upper layers, and with a ton of prim pieces that you will need to edit to fit. I even found I had to edit the ribbon around the cuff.  It’s well worth the effort though as you can see.

This skin is one of Damned gorgeousness that she originally put out for Lazy Sunday.  She has put out a lot of the Alice skin for special occasions. If you missed one, you now have a chance to pick them up again. She has rereleased all her special occasion skins in a special collection in her store and in the SL Marketplace. They are a little more expensive then when they first came out, but for skins that look like this, they are still a good deal at 350L. The one I’m wearing here is skin number 4. One of the things I like is that while Damned is gothy and edgy, her skins look great on everyone. I’m not the body type, or the style type the designer probably wants modeling the skin, but I like how it looks on me anyway.  So head over to the store and try out a demo and see how the Alice skin looks on you. I bet you like it.  While your there pick up her pack of Alice lipsticks, to make your favourite skins go further, and her Alpha Combo Mega Pack which is only 65L but oh so handy. If you want to shop on the market place you’ll find them here.

Alice Skins are on sale now for 50% off, so don’t forget to look at them at the store, or you’ll be kicking yourself later when you have worn you new one for a while and just have to have more.

The eyes I’m wearing are my new love, I’ve been looking forever to find eyes the exact colour of my Grandmother’s eyes. She had the most amazing olive coloured eyes, but, this is so hard to put into words, they weren’t a crystal sharp olive, like blue eyes are like glass, they were a creamy olive green. These are finally those eyes.  They are the Autumn Green Gaze eyes from Amacci.

These eyes are the most gorgeous eyes I’ve ever tried on. They don’t have the pink whites of the eye problem that I have with so many other eyes.  The whites are nicely white and when you move your left and right, they stay white, so when my avatar moves her eyes, she doesn’t look like she has pink eye half the time.  I hate that so much in eyes, I don’t know how people wear eyes that do that crap. I’ve thrown away more money on eyes I’ve had to toss for that, I can’t even tell you.  What is the point of wearing eyes that only look good when your looking dead on to something when your avatar rarely does that with most AO’s. You buy AO’s so your body moves around and your looking at things from different angles and then you get eyes that don’t look good when your viewed from different angles. There is a logic disrupt here somewhere.

Anyway, back to Amacci eyes, these Gaze eyes are everything I want. They come in small and large. The range of colours is huge. Each colour pack – Green, Blue, Brown and Dark, and Diverse has 16 colours in it for a total of 64 colours in the range. The cost is 120L per pack, 960L per individual colour pack (A savings of 50%) or you can by all 4 fatpack for 2,990 which is pretty close to getting one of the packs free. The 4th is only costing you 110L. That adds up to a lot of eye goodness.

The hair I’m wearing is from a “new to me” shop called Esk-imo. This cute little hair is called Bobbie, and when you buy a hair pack of it, you get 3 different bang versions in one pack. Talk about value for your money. The hair packs come in Darks, Reds, Blondes and Colours and are only 225L a pack. The customer service is exemplary too. I had a problem with one of the hairs not stretching even though the hair was correctly set by her as modifiable. I wrote her a letter and before I logged in again, she had sent me a replacement hair. You can’t overvalue great customer service.

This post was photographed in a great new pose prop by Juxtapose called Back Alley Booking. It’s on sale right now for 100L for the Grenade Free Wednesday at the Jersey Shore Sim. It hasn’t been priced back to it’s normal sale price of 300L, which is still a great price in my opinion, as of publishing time of this on Thursday, but I would hurry and grab it fast! This is a lot of pose prop for very little money.

I have been going through my inventory a lot lately, in the little time I’ve been in SL between relative visits, summer travel and my ever returning migraines, trying to weed out the old and ugly to get ready for the new mesh items. Since my blog focuses on inventory treasures, old and new, I thought I would show you something I rediscovered, an old favourite of mine, that you might have in your inventory and not remember, even though it’s no longer for sale.

This fun and sexy pant suit is called Downtown, and was designed by Lestat Reuvan before she changed her shop name to Siss Boom. I went through her shop the other day and I don’t see it there, the shop is a little like a Victorian house so it has a lot of small rooms, that connect in different ways, so in a shop like that it’s easy to get turned around, I know I ended up looking at the same room more then once a lot,  so it’s equally possible I missed one. I’m fairly sure this outfit is no longer for sale, but she has a ton of newer and very arguably better outfits for sale so it’s well worth a trip if you haven’t been.  I can think of probably a dozen or so of her outfits in  my inventory that are probably technically better crafted then this, Lestat has a great gift for learning with each outfit, but what can I say, I’m feeling monochrome, and I love it!

Siss Boom puts all her outfits out at 100L until a new outfit comes out and then they go up to the regular price, so it pays to keep a close eye on the shop. They can change daily or once a month..you never know.

The pretty flower necklace is Baby Monkey’s Enamel Flower Set – Black. It comes with a necklace (chest and spine versions), earrings and 2 rings. You change the metal on the set to silver, gold or matte black using the hud that comes with it. You get all this for the bargain basement price of 55L.  This was offered for sale a couple of weeks ago as a Taste of SL item in their Color Black promotion.  I love this set because of the simple clean lines, nice texturing and the way it matches so much of what I own.

When I was in the Baby Monkey store today getting the slurl to the black set, I saw the other set this necklace comes in, the Enamel Flower Set. This is a texture change set with necklace (chest and spine versions, earrings and 2 rings, but there is a difference. This hud on it not only lets you choose the metal colours, it lets you choose 14 petal textures and 14 center textures. That adds up to a wild array of possible colour combinations. The price? Just 125L. A steal.  Just to tempt you some more I made the above photos to show you some of the colours I did…I love the colours available. Not to dark, not too light, just right! Black isn’t one of the colours available in this set so I’m glad she made the black version for The Best Of SL sale.

Bonus I accidentally discovered! The hud for the multicoloured set will change the center on the black set. So if you buy both, your black set becomes more flexible.  You can’t knock that! Right now I’m running around with a black flower with a red center.

Prim Eyelashes!!!!!!!!

I have had trouble with lashes forever in SL. My face seemed to tilt from nose to ears in more of an angle then most people. No matter how I rotated lashes, and I bought dozens and dozens of them, the problem was always the same, one side or the other would not fit against the skin, either the side closest to the nose or the side closest to the outer corner. One of the would be sticking out.  I read every article I could find on lash fitting, watched every video, but could never find a fix for that. I basically settled for it looked “Ok” and then edited them to look as perfect as I could get for every shot when taking photos.

That is a thing of the past now because Lashae , my friend of does the fantastic blog called Lashae Karsin, recommended that I go get the LeLukta prim lashes, and I did. Boy is she right, these are great! The lashes are little tiny prim lashes instead of a couple of alpha layers. The lashes are grouped together 3 to 5 in a group, and when you choose to edit them individually, you can move these little groups around your eyes, and make a near perfect fit. The lashes are also scripted to tint to 5 colours other then the default black – White, Purple, Blue, Green and Brown.

They are copiable, so I can make a set for my Asian shape. Unfortunately they aren’t modifiable , probably because of the script, so I can’t rename them to the shape they are made for. Pity. Note to Linden, make a separate permission for rename, just to make our lives easier.  I got the curl lashes and they sell for 180L. There are two other prim choices on the top shelf beside them. Don’t buy from the shelf below like I did. I didn’t notice they were a lower price and thought they were prim too, as there is nothing saying they are alpha, and ended up with eyelashes I will never probably use.

The hair I’m  wearing is Glory by Exile, one of their hairs that has both streak options and root colour options. That is a lot of options for a 250L pack of hair. I especially like the naturals option that gives you 5 shades in different colour families. For those of us that can’t decide if we are going to be brunettes, redheads, blondes or even go white with fright! Sometimes all in one day. I’m wearing the Frost version from the Natural’s pack with Ebony texture added.

This pretty skin is from Ikki Kanto, the designer behind Nekojita Designs and is called Passion Skin. I love her make up style. She has all kinds of bold make ups, with beautiful colours, not too heavy on the cheek shading, but intense lip colour and great shadows. Not all her make up’s have shadow’s she likes to mix it up, just like we do in real life, so some are like this one, a great lipstick and a plain lid, which looks great with an outfit like this, or would look great with a tattoo shadow of your choice.

She has 4 walls full of great skins, Caucasian and Asian, 90% that I’m drooling to own. She also has some great bargains and sales out all the time. Today I picked up a shape, great skin and eye set for just 15L for the whole thing. You’ll be seeing it soon, I’m sure.  The only thing she is missing is demos, but I hope she will get them soon.  I’ve liked every skin I have gotten from her though, so try one of her bargains to be sure before you buy one of the full price skins, but at 250L , even the full price skins are bargains.

These shoes are some of the coolest most fun shoes I have seen in SL. They are called Akita Clogs and they are by PixelFashion. The texture on them is fantastic. The colour palette it comes in it bright and sassy. Those toes are some of the best toes I have ever seen in SL. The shoes are also great because every colour comes colour change in to several shades of that colour. Black goes from Black to White…Both the strap at the top and the bottom plastic bit is texture change to different colours.  In the coloured versions like Red, the plastic bottom part can be Black, White or Red. The shoes come in the Black/White shown here, Pink, Red, Brown, Blue and Green.

I was going to complain about the nails not working unless you had their prim nails, but I guess that was just SL being a bugger that day. Fortunately before I wrote this and made a fool of myself, I tried the hud again and the nail polish option worked just perfectly.  *starts to chant to myself…I love SL..I love SL…I love SL* They have some really pretty colours of nails too. The black would have been awesome to use with this outfit if SL had co-operated! They even give you the option of having 4 different levels of gloss on the nail polish.  Having options is never a bad thing.  They do have a feature where if you have their nails and you change the colour on the nails or the toes, both will change at once.  Nice to not have to fiddle around with two huds.  Great thinking!

Now you might notice that my leg and my shoe don’t match colour much at all. There is two reasons for this.

1 – My leg was completely covered by the pant prim, so the closest bare skin was my hands, and the match was close enough to look good with that amount of distance.

2 – There is no RGB colour input option to match.  You have to pick the set colour that is closest to your skin tone and then they have some big patches of skin tone…your current colour in the middle, on either side +5 and +20,  -5 and -20 of Red, Green, Blue and White.  If you are a good visual person and can look at a colour and go, well, I need a bit less blue and a bit more green and red and then just darken this up a bit, it will be perfect, then this system will work for you. I know a lot of my friends can use a system like this and get a colour in a minute.

I’m not that sort of person. For me this sort of system is like a chinese torture puzzle. I’m Ok if I have the basic colour set and I need to adjust it by one colour box.  That I can do. Drop more then one colour box in to the mix, and I’m clicking away at random hoping something somewhere will somehow work.

My only complaint about this shoe is that there is no way to add the RBG numbers is so that no matter how your mind works, you can match the colours easily and quickly. The good news is that I can match them…eventually…but an hour every time I put them on is a high price to pay. There is the option to save the colour, which would be good if I ever wore the same skin twice.  Yeah, I laughed at that idea too.

Now..what is the price for these sexy, cool, fashionable, well made, well crafted, wonders you may ask…Well, I answer…inexpensive if you buy 1 pair, dirt cheap if you buy them all! They are 380 a pair, or currently the fatpack is on sale for 750L for all 6 pairs. Get the 6 pairs…get that, you won’t regret it!

The poses used were from Exposeur, their new pose pack for Top Model, the All Stars – Intro. That’s not playing up here in Canada yet, I can hardly wait. It’s on sale for 50L, so you can’t beat that price, get it before it goes up!

I have always had a weakness for black and white striped gowns, especially those from the Victorian/Edwardian era or early 20′th century. So that being said, it’s not a wonder that this beauty from Angel Dessous, called Sayoko in Silver is so appealing to me. It also appeals to my love of a bargain, because they have the dress at Chic Boutique for only 90L. How can I beat that? A dress style I love, and a price to love too. This beautiful dress sell in several colours in their main store, for the regular price of 590L. Along with the silver they have pink, gold, red and a green, so if black and white isn’t for you, then there is a colour combo you are sure to like waiting for you.

I love the hip hugging system skirt in this, but with the prim skirt bottom to avoid the broken skirt look every time you take a step.  I love the different directions you get with the stripes in the dress as you go from top to bottom, and how the bows seem to accent the dress just right. They are smart and stylish bows instead of cute and precious bows. I am not a big fan of cute bows. I’m actually not a big fan of  cute period. The opera length gloves finish the gown, and to me at least, giving it a timeless quality. I could see this gown in a black and white movie, a glamorous gown from the 40′s or with a big hat and a parasol having it pass for an early time. With a butt my size, who needs a bustle?

Here is a back view of the gown, just to show you that the detailing isn’t limited to the front. The seams at the side are perfectly executed. The back has a lovely dip, and a bow perfectly placed in the small of the back. This picture shows that this dress has great shading in the white, it’s just not stark black and white, not even on the skirt prims.

This beautiful skin is from Al Vulo!. it’s is their latest skin at The Fashion Garret. It’s Pollon in Summer Pink in the peach skin tone.  If you like the Pollon skin line, and who wouldn’t…I mean look at it!. There are more skins in the store. You can get it in tan or fairy skin tones. They are 800L each which includes 8 different versions of the skin. You can also get fatpacks which are 2,700L for all 6 skins shown for each line, a bonus skin and the Pollon shape. Warning the shape does come in 3 sizes, model, small and tall, but there doesn’t appear to be a skirt shape or anything like that.  The shapes are no modify so wearing a skirt like the one I’m wearing above would be impossible unless you want to look like a big assed mutant. The skins alone though are definitely worth the price.

My hair is from Shag and it’s their Project Themeory contribution for this weekend. This hair is called “Thai me up” which wins best pun of the week, and comes in 2 colour packs of 3 colours, one roots shades and one regular for 75L each. There is a demo available for free with one colour of each.  I’m wearing the Velvet from the pack 2…the non-roots pack.  If you look in the second picture, you’ll see the cutest part of this hair, which is the dangling little tiny chinese take out boxes on the end of the chop sticks in the back of the hair. What chop sticks have to do with my outfit? Nothing! But it’s a lovely hair and I wanted to wear it. *Stretches really hard for an excuse.* The dress has an oriental name. There! That’s my line and I’m sticking with it!

Poses – The poses are from a set by Still Life which is a special for Lazy Sunday called Pretty Princess. It’s on sale for 75L. I love all her poses, not the least reason why is because she mirrors them.  That can be wonderful!

The designing force behind Indie Rose, Angelina Eizenberg-Oxhall, seems to have a gift for making knee length dresses that you can dress up any way you want, and use any way you want. They are delightfully feminine, but you can make them a casual go out to the movie dress or a go out for the evening dress, whatever you wish. The dress is the canvas, your accessories paint the mood.

Her full line of dresses are stunning, you can see them at her new shop. Her prices are great. I thought they would be a lot more looking at her dresses, but I’ve seen none over 320L and most dresses are around 225 – 250L. Separates start at 100L. She has some of the nicest colour combos in SL. There are a few orange dresses there I’m dying to get, and will get. Heck, there are even some pink dresses I wouldn’t mind owning. I know…pink..who can fathom it. The dress I’m showing you today however is her contribution to My Second Wardrobe, a discount sample shop with a lot of great designers of her caliber. This beautiful dress called Vintage Rose Cocktail Dress is on sale there for just 50L.

I love the appliqued lace flowers on the front of the dress, I must have spent an hour looking at it trying to decide if it was bobbin lace or needle lace with the foundation threads removed.  It was frustrating in the end because the texture is clear enough to see some of the individual threads, it was not clear enough to see how those threads were woven, and having done both techniques, I’d have to see that to tell you. Of couse, Angelina made the dress to look pretty, not to have any forensic lace studies done on it.

Seriously however I am thrilled with how she used the lace on this dress, the cut out on it is very well done, the edges are spotless. She also doesn’t fall into the trap I see a lot of designs fall into when using lace. One, making it way too big, stitches that would be 1/8th of an inch long being 4 inches long on the dress.  I do a lot of needlework, I even have been known to teach needlework on the needlework guild level. It drives me nuts to see designs distorted like that. This pattern is a logical size, it could be smaller depending on the thread size, but it’s highly possible it was made the size it’s shown in.  The second trap is using the same pattern on the skirt and chopping it up, ending up with needlework that goes to the edge of panels and ends unfinished, looking like just that…unfinished.  This rarely looks good and she did well to avoid it.

The skirt is made of mainly non-flexie pieces to make an upside down opening rose bud shape. It is tiered. The middle tier in the front is somewhat raised on the dress you will get. The skirt is modifiable. I made mine smaller so that I could get all the top of the dress inside my waist.  This made the skirt a little small on me and you could see the glitch pants under the top middle panel on me. A second using edit linked parts to pull that panel down a touch and I was good to go.  Never underestimate the value of modifiable parts.

The top is made of a matte satin the skirt is made of a very shiny satin with tons and tons of folds on it. When you move there is flexie parts inside the skirt that slide out and show in in the opposite direction that you are moving in, making the appearance of movement complete. You don’t normally think of shiny and matte working that well together but on this dress, Indie Rose makes it work.

The last part of this outfit from Indie Rose is their leather flats shoes. These shoes are from her Gatcha Machine. I’m sure 95% of you know what a Gatcha Machine is, but for the 5% that don’t know here is the scoop. Gatcha Machines are basically the SL version of the bubble gum machines, the expensive ones with the prizes in them. In SL though none of them have gum in them, or bad prizes.  In this case the Gatcha Machine has 12 pairs of leather flats in all kinds of colours, and they are 90L each. You pay your 90L, and get a pair sent to you. They are no copy/transfer so if you get a pair in a colour you already have you can gift them to friends when it’s a birthday or they are feeling down and you want to cheer them up. What is cheerier then getting an unexpected pair of shoes. I’m smiling just thinking about it.

I don’t like many flats, but I love these. The texture is great with just the right amount of shine to ensure they aren’t boring, and the flower is fun and interesting without being too in your face to make it hard to wear with anything.  They have a great light of colours with will go with a lot of things.

Here are some of the other 11 colours…just picked at random…they are all pretty.

Left is Blue and Right is Lavender/Brown

Left is Light Blue/Beige and Right is Red/Light Blue

When I put on this dress, I knew I had to wear it with this skin. The flower in the dress was just too much of a perfect match to the flower in this eyeshadow. This fantasy make up is from who else but the Queen of Fantasy Makeup, Kira Panderborn, of Style By Kira. This is her Kohia make upline, Skin 01D Fantasy, and this skin sells for 150L which is her normal price, or your can buy a fatpack of 6 skins for 750L.

The jewelry is from Lucas Lameth Fashion Jewelry and is called Maya in Carnelian/Gold. You get the necklace and earrings in a set for 229L. I have said it before and it still holds true, Luc, as the store is known for short, is the best jewelry store I know, that no one has heard of. It’s also the best place I know to get jewelry made of natural materials like stones, shells and even simple things like rope. He also does some killer retro crystal and metal jewelry.

The hair I’m wearing is from Amacci, I love the hairs she has been doing. This is Simone in Brown Sugar. I love the whispy hairs at the side of the head, and if you look up at the side photo, it’s got a great back bun. Amacci has also put all her hair tattoos on for free, 2 different versions. The first is one I’m wearing here, a plain back swept tattoo, great for men or women, and it makes all bangless designs like this have a fantastic smooth front. Wear the colour matching your hair and it is very very very hard to tell where the hair base ends and the hair begins.  She also has a hair base that works well only for women, it has little tiny hairs coming off it into little tiny curls here and there around the face. You know those small hairs that grow in as your long hair breaks…It’s very pretty and also free, so pick them both up.

AMACCI IS HAVING A HAIR SALE!!!!!!

Just thought I would make that a wee bit noticable. All her hairs currently are 85L a pack, and 295L for a fatpack.  She also has started with her hair fair hairs a new pack called the Fave Pack, which is 7 of Designer/Owner  Carnina Larsen’s favourite colours across the hair spectrum from Vanilla to Onyx. I truely applaud all hair shops that start to embrace this trend for this type of selection. I love it!

The eyes I’m wearing are also from Amacci. With all the trouble with eyes I’ve been having lately, the number I’ve bought only to have them blow up in my face by turning black when I looked to the side, or having red sides or being so pink in the whites of the eye it looked like I am a recovering alcholic, maybe not that recovering.  I was almost afraid to try them. But they are great eyes. They come with big or small eyes. I’m wearing the big version of the Moon eyes. They also come with sparkles for the eyes, but I didn’t wear them because stuff like that never photographs easily. The sparkles are 2 prims you can wear them together, separately or not at all, as the mood hits you. Each eye colour pack is 100L.

The poses I’m using today are from Bang! They are from the pose set !Bang Stands 140 to 149 which normally sells for 250L but is currently on sale on the market place for 100L

Here is a link to the Market Place where the sale is as of publishing time..but it’s limited so hurry

It’s somewhat ironic that some of the loveliest skins in the game come from a shop called Filthy. It’s no surprise to those in her group that some of them are also her group gifts, as the designer behind this beautiful skin machine, Alexandra Barcelos, is as generous as she is talented.

Her latest creation is called Jolie, and she comes in 6 skin tones from Fair to Espresso, and is sold only in fatpacks of 8 skins for 1,800 lindens. With skin this nice and prices like that, why wouldn’t you want the fatpack. I never understood buying one skin for 1,000 lindens in a shop when you could get fatpacks for not much more. But I am a little skin piglet.

As you can see from the front and back body shots above, Jolie has lovely shading, not too muscular, not too shapeless, just right. I love her belly button and the very light scattering of moles. This is taken with my shape, which I always  do skins with, but the last photo I’m going to give you is with the Jolie shape which is included in the skin pack. The shape is lovely, and is modifiable, which every shape needs to be. It makes a skin pack which is already a good deal into a great deal.  There is also tattoo and underwear versions of cleavage add ons, I didn’t wear this in the shots as this type of swim suit looks terrible with them, but it’s great to have the options.

I love the make up palette, a nice variety of shade and make ups.

If you want to add some extra variety to it, there is a 1L lip gloss pack that she is giving away in her group gifts section as well as a package of tattoo lashes, blushes, eyeliners, lipglosses and lipliners that she is giving free to group members.  Group membership is 199L and she has never missed giving out a new skin for boys and girls each month that I have seen.

Last but not at all least is the Jolie shape. This is definitely a cute shape, the only thing I don’t love about it is the upper lip being bigger then the bottom lip. That has always been something that creeps me out. I always shudder watching Liv Tylor in movies because of it, but millions think she is stunning so I’m obviously a minority on that one. Well we all have our foibles, and I realize I’m weird on this one.

The hair is from the ever talented Truth Hawks at his shop Truth, SL’s first name in hair and is called Jean. I’m wearing it in Auburn from the gingers pack. I love this one, not too long, not too short, a little sporty, but clean enough to be elegant. This one is definitely a home run. I expect I’ll be tempted to wear this one with a lot of things. The colour packs are 250L each or you can buy the whole kit an caboodle for 1,500L.

The great swim suit is from Izzie’s. She makes everything look fantastic.  Most of the time when I put something on the first thing I do is check the shoulders to see how bad the shoulder connection is on the outfit. Her stuff is so well made I stopped checking. Too bad you can’t say that for everyone. Sometimes I think half the popularity of long hair with bloggers is to hide crappy shoulders. This great bikini is part of a big set that she came out with, that has all the colours and patterns anyone could ever hope for.  This one is her floral in cyan. You get it in a pack of 3 floral bikinis for only 220L.  You can also buy it in a fatpack of all her patterned bikinis for 889L, and I believe the count is 15 bikinis.  You definately can’t wear all them out, even in SL’s eternal summer.

The poses I used are from Lauria’s  The Sweetest Thing pack. Lauria is moving away from her old poses into more high fashion oriented poses so if you want to pick  up this cute and versitile pose pack in world, you had better do it soon, or you will only find it on the marketplace some day! It’s currently selling for 250L

There is something completely new happening with Taste Of SL. They have decided along with their theme they are going to feature one of their contributing designers each week.  This week is Acid & Mala Creations.  This design house is a partnering of Acido Ferraris and Mala Oh, which has been around since 2007. They have a huge store with a wide variety of clothing, skins, accessories. If you need it, they probably have it.  If you haven’t looked at their shop in a while you should. As an incentive this weekend, along with their normal Taste of SL discounted item, they have provided this group gift for Taste of SL members. It’s a free group to join, and there is a join box right beside the gift offering which is right inside the main enterance.

The shoes I matched it with are from Baby Monkey, they are called ZsaZsa Pump in Pink Roses. I think they match the small roses in the dress well and worked a whole lot better then any other shoe I tried, and they are pretty and cute. What more do you need. Of course a low price is always good and at 200L a pair or 1,000L for the fatpack of 10 these won’t break your bank.

This is a nice pretty summery patterned dress, with nice subtly hand drawn folds at the side  of it, making it look like real cloth without making it look too tight like a lot of dresses do. It is a bit shorter in the back then I normally like but they have a prim bow on the back which is a nice touch, and the prim piece at the front moves well with the dress.

Acid & Mala are also selling a Double Layered top in Red as their item in this weeks Taste of SL . This is the first layer, or what I’m calling the first layer, it can be worn on top, on the bottom or by itself. It’s called the short top and I think it’s adorable. It comes with the prim bottom that you can see here, not to huge, just the right size, and a bow in the back which you can’t.

This is what I think of as the second layer, the red shirt, I have it on top of the short top, but you can wear it under or just by itself. It’s a very flexiable set of tops, with all the layers you can want. This top comes with 5 prim pieces for a very realistic look of being rolled up and stretched out.

Together these two tops make a whole lot of tops for the 75L you can get it for this weekend!

The fantastic jeans I’m wearing with this are Callie Cline’s Floral 1/2 wash Black and White pants.  A long time favourite in my wardrobe and one that somehow does not age. The best things just don’t.  They are on sale today in her shop for just 50L. Didn’t know that when I picked them out…Score!

Magnifique is offering this great pose set for just 55L this weekend, and those who are observant enough will notice that I have used poses 1 through 4 in order in my first 4 pictures.  What about number 5 you ask. Well look down to see the photos of the close up of my skin and hair and you will see pose 5 in action.  When the poses are so good you can use them bang bang bang like that…you know you have a winner set. Only a fool would pass this up!

(opps, just noticed that she doesn’t have her poses in order 1 through 5 in the photo…oh well…but I did use them in order..you’ll see when you get them…you are smart enough to get them…right?)

This top and skirt are the offering this weekend from the wonderful Alexohol.  Not only do you get this great crossed strap cami on all 3 layers, which will go with anything, but you also get this cute red Murphy mini skirt.  If that isn’t enough there is the sporting red canvas bag. The cute pose I’m using is built into the bag. Sweet! What do you pay for this…I feel like doing a Mike the TV from the classic cartoon Reboot..but there is no 99′s in this price…it’s only 50L. Mike would be sad, but you can do a happy dance!

This isn’t on sale for Taste Of SL this weekend, but I wanted to say a word about the skin and hair that have been making me look so good throughout the post.   This is the Damned Alice Skin for La Venta Eventa that is 99L til the end of this weekend. It’s amazing. Don’t stop…don’t think..just get it.

This style of hair has been a favourite for a long time…short at the back and going to a long front. Calico Ingmann has been promising me a curly version of it for a while, so when I saw this straight version of it at the hair fair by SLink I jumped on it and I haven’t taken it off since.  I don’t think I’ve had a hair on this long since I was in year one of SL.  My friends are soon going to be taking blood samples to see if I’ve been replaced by a pod.  I love it, it’s sleek, it’s sophisticated, it goes with everything, morning, noon, evening wear…you name it.  PJ’s if I owned any.  The colour I’m wearing is called Burnt. It can be bought two ways. By itself for 150L or as part of a 4 pack of 4 shades of called Allsorts 2 that has a blonde, a red, a brunette and a black for 450L. A kind of mini fatpack.

Adam  n Eve’s is one of those rare shops where you can walk in naked and walk out pretty, with everything you need to start your SL life. They are even responsible for a lot improved SL newbie stuff in the library.  Since they are having a fantastic shoe sale right now (more on that later down in the blog), I thought I would show you some of the stuff I have bought from Adam n Eve, so that I’m literally covered from head to toe today in their stuff. I even took the photos in their wonderful Artis Natur sim where they sell everything you need to make some fantastic landscaping.

The dress I’m wearing is Adam n Eve’s Snakeskin Dress which I have had for a few days now and I adore. It has one of the nicest textures I have ever had in a dress.  It almost seems to glow and shine with a liquid grace as I move, and makes ever pose my AO takes look sexy as heck.  It comes with two skirts so you can wear it whichever way you like, the more traditional flouncy prim skirt in the first photo, or the newer style mini skirt in the photo above. I’m more partial to the flouncy skirts still, because no matter what happens they always look good, you can’t say that about mini skirts. You don’t have to pick though, whatever way you want it, you got it. The dress comes in 6 colours, the red I’m wearing, black, blue, green, natural (brown) and pink.  As with all Adam n Eve stuff, they like to show you exactly how great their stuff is, so they have a free demo you can try of this dress, and if you decide to buy it’s only 260L.

The hair I’m wearing is from their hair department and is called Christina. It shows up darker in the photos unfortunately then it does in the game, you’ll have to get a demo of it and try on the cocoa colour to see just how great these textures are.  When you buy the demo, if you don’t get every colour they have, you get practically every colour in the demo. That makes it nice, because you don’t have to guess what colour pack you want this particular hair in, you can try on all the colours in a hair pack and find out. I got the browns, and I love every colour in it which is unusual for me. If I like 2 I’m usually laughing.

They have 8 different colour packs for 250L each, or 1440L for the Buy All pack and demos are 0L.

Do try on a lot of the demos, I found the hair looked better then it did it some of the photos.

It used to be that I made Sachi Vixen’s skins look bad. Mousy would be a kind way of putting how my shape made them look. I used to look at the pretty photos she had of them and looked at how the demos looked on me and hit my head on my desk..but no more! I too now look great in Adam n Eve skins! If you didn’t look great in Adam n Eve skins before, I would suggest trying them again too.

The skin above is her new Victoria skin, and with it she has made complete individualization possible for people with V2 viewers (including Kristens and Firestorm from Phoenix).  Each skin comes with 4 eyeshadows and 6 lipstick, and a nude version of the skin with or without cleavage. There are also blush add on, freckles, different coloured eyebrows to match hair colour and manicures and pedicures to match the lipsticks. It takes forever just to look at all the options you get let alone to wear all the different possible combinations.  If you are using a viewer that lets you wear more then one tattoo, I would highly recommend this skin.  It comes in pale, natural, sunkissed and tan. I’m wearing the sunkissed.

The skin is 1800L each but since this is more then a fatpack, it’s very resonable.  If you get bored you can check out the other tattoo make up that Adam n Eve has for sale and grow your choices.

Adam n Eve are having a shoe sale! Weeee! I love Damian’s shoes! All their shoes with prim toes like the Milano shoes I’m wearing here are 150L each. The fatpack of all 6 colours are 600L. You can’t beat that.  As you can see the skin colour on them are easy to match. These shoes are too old to match the new Victoria skin tone so I had to match using RGB colour numbers but it took me just a minute.

All their boots are also on sale for 150L each, and non-prim toed shoes are 100L each.  Fatpacks are discounted on all sets, prices depending on how many are in the fatpack.

I would really recommend you having a peek at these fantastic shoes before the sale and some of these shoes are gone forever!

To add a little incentive, there is a pair of shoes out for 10L.
