Today I made an outfit around this terrific leather jacket that is now on sale at .Shi. This jacket is normally part of two different outfits, you can buy at a much higher price, both great outfits, but right now, you can buy it by itself for just 50L. If all you want is the jacket, it’s a great deal! Of course once you go to .Shi, don’t be surprised if you walk away with much more then just the jacket, because their designs are killer. Her Chinoi is one of my  all time favourite SL outfits.

The mesh black leather pants I bought to go with them are from which is closing today. They have all their clothes on sale for 10L, including these pants in about 16 textures. I bought them all. Some of her snake and leopard spot ones are really well done. Sorry to see someone who can texture mesh items so nicely closing down.

The really nice shoes are python pumps from Leverocci and are at the last Fashionably Late which is closing down today. They have 3 colours of these for sale, black, gold and blue. They are 150L each and there is a demo so you can make sure that they look as great on you and they do on the sign. They will! Don’t forget to go to the Leverocci shop, they have a lot of reasonably priced shoes there, and they have a lot of stunningly beautiful designs. A must for shoe lovers.

The hair I’m wearing is from Pocket Mirrors and is on sale at the sales event called The Fitting Room . The Fitting Room describes itself as a Premium Outlet, and unlike most of these sales rooms, you must be a group member to buy anything at The Fitting Room, but it does cost nothing to join. I expect many people will be joining, buying and leaving. They might be wise to have a hippo group for people to join who aren’t going to stay in the group from month to month.

The Ava 2 hair from Pocket Mirrors came in the Black Pack for 70L which is a great price, and the hair is much nicer then   hairs I’ve tried from Pocket Mirrors in the past. I’m really loving it, it really captures the vintage quality of an Ava Gardner hair do, the textures are great on it, it’s made the perfect length to not spend all it’s time in my shoulders. The only complaint I had was that I felt it could use a hair base when on a shape it wasn’t made exactly to fit. Since black hair bases tend to be pretty interchangable between brands I wore my Amacci base with it, and was very happy with the results.

If you haven’t tried Pocket Mirrors in a while, it is probably time to give this shop another go.

The nails I’m wearing that matches the eyeshadow so perfectly are from [Virtual/Insanity]. This is from their Pastel Square Nails pack 1…colour 8.  Right now pack 1 and pack 2 are both on sale for 75L each for the Taste of SL weekend sales event.  This price is half the price the packs will be on after the sale, so get in before Monday if you can, but if you can’t, you can still grab them for 150L each, which is still a great price for 8 nail colours a pack.

Last but in no way least, the skin I’m wearing is from the Gatcha event – The Gatcha Party. It’s the Lily skin, from Wow Skins.  They have 2 Gatcha’s out but if you have Gatcha luck like mine…24 items in the container, and I’ll get the same two 12 tries in a row…you’ll be happy to hear that their two Gatchas have exactly one thing in each of them. Perfect luck each time.  Just try each one once and you have it all! The Lily skin is the one I’m wearing, and the Lily Skin 2 is similar but with a pretty blue shadow. Both are a thrifty 55L each. Don’t miss out…go today while you remember!

My photos were taken on my PNP – Photostudio using the Pirate’s Cover Pack 2 which is on sale this weekend for 60L as part of their 60L

One of the things I like about this studio is every weekend since I bought it, they have had 6 packs of textures up for sale at 60L each, but even if you buy them brand spanking new, they are a very reasonable 100L for a pack of 12 textures.

Poses – The poses I used this time are from Dare, which is unfortunately out of business. In case you have their pack and want to know

Photo 1 – Get on my hip pose

Photo 2 – I’m never bored

Photo 3 – I squat because I can

There is something completely new happening with Taste Of SL. They have decided along with their theme they are going to feature one of their contributing designers each week.  This week is Acid & Mala Creations.  This design house is a partnering of Acido Ferraris and Mala Oh, which has been around since 2007. They have a huge store with a wide variety of clothing, skins, accessories. If you need it, they probably have it.  If you haven’t looked at their shop in a while you should. As an incentive this weekend, along with their normal Taste of SL discounted item, they have provided this group gift for Taste of SL members. It’s a free group to join, and there is a join box right beside the gift offering which is right inside the main enterance.

The shoes I matched it with are from Baby Monkey, they are called ZsaZsa Pump in Pink Roses. I think they match the small roses in the dress well and worked a whole lot better then any other shoe I tried, and they are pretty and cute. What more do you need. Of course a low price is always good and at 200L a pair or 1,000L for the fatpack of 10 these won’t break your bank.

This is a nice pretty summery patterned dress, with nice subtly hand drawn folds at the side  of it, making it look like real cloth without making it look too tight like a lot of dresses do. It is a bit shorter in the back then I normally like but they have a prim bow on the back which is a nice touch, and the prim piece at the front moves well with the dress.

Acid & Mala are also selling a Double Layered top in Red as their item in this weeks Taste of SL . This is the first layer, or what I’m calling the first layer, it can be worn on top, on the bottom or by itself. It’s called the short top and I think it’s adorable. It comes with the prim bottom that you can see here, not to huge, just the right size, and a bow in the back which you can’t.

This is what I think of as the second layer, the red shirt, I have it on top of the short top, but you can wear it under or just by itself. It’s a very flexiable set of tops, with all the layers you can want. This top comes with 5 prim pieces for a very realistic look of being rolled up and stretched out.

Together these two tops make a whole lot of tops for the 75L you can get it for this weekend!

The fantastic jeans I’m wearing with this are Callie Cline’s Floral 1/2 wash Black and White pants.  A long time favourite in my wardrobe and one that somehow does not age. The best things just don’t.  They are on sale today in her shop for just 50L. Didn’t know that when I picked them out…Score!

Magnifique is offering this great pose set for just 55L this weekend, and those who are observant enough will notice that I have used poses 1 through 4 in order in my first 4 pictures.  What about number 5 you ask. Well look down to see the photos of the close up of my skin and hair and you will see pose 5 in action.  When the poses are so good you can use them bang bang bang like that…you know you have a winner set. Only a fool would pass this up!

(opps, just noticed that she doesn’t have her poses in order 1 through 5 in the photo…oh well…but I did use them in’ll see when you get them…you are smart enough to get them…right?)

This top and skirt are the offering this weekend from the wonderful Alexohol.  Not only do you get this great crossed strap cami on all 3 layers, which will go with anything, but you also get this cute red Murphy mini skirt.  If that isn’t enough there is the sporting red canvas bag. The cute pose I’m using is built into the bag. Sweet! What do you pay for this…I feel like doing a Mike the TV from the classic cartoon Reboot..but there is no 99’s in this price…it’s only 50L. Mike would be sad, but you can do a happy dance!

This isn’t on sale for Taste Of SL this weekend, but I wanted to say a word about the skin and hair that have been making me look so good throughout the post.   This is the Damned Alice Skin for La Venta Eventa that is 99L til the end of this weekend. It’s amazing. Don’t stop…don’t think..just get it.

This style of hair has been a favourite for a long time…short at the back and going to a long front. Calico Ingmann has been promising me a curly version of it for a while, so when I saw this straight version of it at the hair fair by SLink I jumped on it and I haven’t taken it off since.  I don’t think I’ve had a hair on this long since I was in year one of SL.  My friends are soon going to be taking blood samples to see if I’ve been replaced by a pod.  I love it, it’s sleek, it’s sophisticated, it goes with everything, morning, noon, evening wear…you name it.  PJ’s if I owned any.  The colour I’m wearing is called Burnt. It can be bought two ways. By itself for 150L or as part of a 4 pack of 4 shades of called Allsorts 2 that has a blonde, a red, a brunette and a black for 450L. A kind of mini fatpack.

When someone says paisley, it doesn’t normally evoke in me visions of a modern day outfit, but rather I think of the late 60’s and the 70’s and mod fashion and big psychedelic colours and patterns. The Beatles and Jimmy Hendrix. I say that as a history buff that knows that they were making fabric with paisley in it before the French Revolution, and that the pattern is believed to be so old it’s Persian in origin. I literally have no excuse for my preconceptions. I know better.

So it’s delightful to see this utterly beautiful gossamer and delicate dress that Angelina Eizenburg of Indie Rose created for the first birthday of Taste of SL.  She has captured the possiblities of paisley again, as a delightfully feminine fabric and wrapped it skillfully in a great dress.  There are lots of little touches in this dress that show you are getting quality workmanship.  The shade work on the bodice to show the gathered fabric…the carefully drawn lines of double stitching around the top of the dress. The fact that the gathering in the dress top goes to the back as well, even more work since she couldn’t just duplicate the front where she was making it look like there was breasts, most dresses in SL, are pretty sparse in details like that on the back.

My body is long for a shape, so the skirt in my photo is worn a little lower then in the official photo of the dress, just to cover the pants. The skirt is modifiable, so if I had wanted to I could have lengthened it, but I like it being a little lower, so I didn’t change it, but it’s nice to know I did have the option.  The belt is a nice colour, adding a new colour option for you to match with shoes, although I didn’t have any trouble matching the lavender.  With all the colours in this wonderful blend, if you can’t find something to match, you aren’t really looking.

The skirt is sculpty but even with my normal generous butt I never had anything peek out once, and there is flexi pieces that peek out to swirl around you when you walk, so this skirt is the best of both worlds.

The cost of all this great dress goodness – Til midnight Sunday just 90L

The earrings I’m wearing are from Mood.  They are also a special jewelry sale from Taste of SL for this weekend. There are 4 metal colours, Gold, Silver, Gun Metal and what I’m wearing Bronzed. They are 55L each for 175L for the Indulgence Pack. I love the name Indulgence Pack. It sounds so much better then Fat Pack. A photo can’t really capture these earrings, the texture always seems to be moving even when you at staying very still, very close and looking at them. It’s hard to even tell exactly what the texture is doing. The earrings are probably worth the 55L alone just for the entertainment time spend figuring them out, let alone the pretties you get from them.

The skin I’m wearing is Emery from Grixdale. She is on final sale, you can buy the skins at 75L each or you can get the fat pack of all 7 of them for 400L. The fatpack has one that you can not buy on it’s own, Bulletproof.  I’m wearing Parsnip in the Honey skin tone.  I’m afraid I was a bad blogger and altered the skin a bit with a tattoo.  Parsnip came with a natural lip and this gorgeous eyeshadow. I’m not a big fan of natural lips so I wore a Mulberry Mousse tattoo from Glamourize.  Glamourize has some amazing lip tattoos and unbelievable prices.

My hair is a great number from Shag called Siren.  I’m wearing brown from the medium shades box.  Shag’s hair comes in boxes of 5 shades for 250L or an All Colour box for 1,000L.  Unfortunately neither picture I took showed off the best feature of this hair, which is the high pile of hair at the top of the head, at the back of the bangs. I’ll have to wear it again some other time and do a better job and showcasing just it. It’s cute as heck!

After having a frustrating time this week, buying some eyes from a company that won’t be named…poetic colors…from their light eye background collection to wear with pale skins and still getting eyes that had whites pinker then my skin and wandering around looking like I was getting pink eye for a day before I got disgusted enough with that crap and threw them out… have a peek…then buying some eyes on Fifty Linden Friday only to have them have huge pink spots in the corner every time my eyes moved left or right, which with my AO, is practically all the time.  Well i was ready for some nice eyes with some whites of the eye that were…I don’t know…here is an idea…WHITE…and I found them in a little shop called Chio.  The eyes I’m wearing are called Herring, and they are 80L and they work wonderfully.  3 cheers for someone who gets it.  There are 6 colours in the whole collection and the fatpack is 400L. Enjoy. I know I’m much less frustrated now.

Poses – Unfortunately the poses I used today are from Pretzel Poses who is no longer in business

Yesterday I showed everyone the brown version of this silk skirt by Izzie’s , and as luck would have it, today the skirt in the Magenta version above went on sale for the Taste of SL 1 year Birthday Weekend event. It’s 50% so only 60L for Saturday and Sunday.  Grab it while it’s hot!

I paired the skirt today with the top from the Black Frilled Suit. It is a great top with prim frills down the front, and a solid coloured body suit bottom. It looks great worn with pants, skirts or just by itself. It comes in 5 colours,  Red, Blue, Brown, Magenta and Black for 120 each or a the fatpack of all 5 for 480L

The hair is from Amacci,  Emilia is it’s name. I’m wearing the coffee colour. Emelia comes in a short version or you can have it this long by wearing the hair extention which attaches to your spire. It’s a great way to keep your hair from constantly slipping into your body.

The skin I’m wearing is from Oceane’s but when I went the shop wasn’t there, so I don’t know if it’s gone or not. She had all these skins on for free the other day before a big redo of her outlet.  This is Leona in Honey Tone – Goa Gold for the make up for those of you who want to do an inventory search for it.

Pose – Exposeur –  I love being a girl – Pose 26

I am a member of the Society Of Creative Anacronism in real life, or the SCA for short, which is a group of insane people who get dressed up in historical costumes and do all sorts of crazy events based around the Middle ages and Renaissance the way it should have been. Without the nasty disease, plumbing (although having camped in a lot of horse fields with outhouses in Italian gowns, I can tell you that plumbing is optional) and mass transit. My personea is a woman from about 1510 in the state of Florence. As an Italian, I’m batty about silk so I spend a lot of time in fabric stores in real life, stroking silk, lusting over silk, wanting to buy silk for my fancy dresses. What does that have to do with this?

Well just that I know what silk looks like, raw silk, heavy silk, damask silk, watered silk, all of it, and every time a designer puts out something “silk” in SL I always go and look at it with great expectation. Those expectations are rarely filled. It’s really hard to bring the glow and subtle luxury of silk into SL. Many have tried, many have failed.

So when I saw Izzie’s new release of silk skirts, I was hopeful, because her textures are great, but not real hopeful. When I tried on the skirt though it was love at first sight. Then I went to the shop to try and find something to match it. I found she had a line of silk tops I had completely missed. They were gorgeous too! Puppy love! These textures glow and gleam as only silk can, you can almost feel the warm glide of it under your palm as you wear it.

The skirt comes in 10 colours, 10 is too many to list here and you really should go see them, I’m wearing the dullest one, they all gleam so brightly,  each an incrediably low 120L. There is a fatpack option if you’re smart enough to want them all, for 960L. You get all the layers you could possibly want, and since this is a sculpty skirt, Izzie’s puts in an Alpha layer option which makes your ass disappear and makes the skirt work perfectly no matter what your AO or walk. I’m not wearing that now, I’m just wearing a skirt shape, and the skirt is behaving very well, I didn’t have to edit it into place at all for any of my photos, but I can tell you that the alpha layer is skirt magic! This skirt comes in two ways, by the way, editable, and with a resize script, so however you like to fix things, you can do it!

The silk shirts come in 7 colours, ranging from your basic black and white to a bunch of lovely pastels great for summer, including the minty green I have on.  They are just 60L each or the whole fatpack for 300L. I’m trying to find things I need to wear them with so I can justify getting more for myself. Like my inventory needs more stuff. Kinda like teens need more angst.

While I was in the store I picked up this fantastic necklace and bracelet set.  That is what I love about clothing designers that make jewelry, you could look a million years in different jewelry shops and never find jewelry that matches this so perfectly! At 120L, it adds a lot of Wow for your buck.

Now for the shoes! These great shoes are from Baby Monkey Shoes, and are called Middy Cork Platform Pumps. They are available in 8 pretty pastel colours and are on sale this weekend for an extremely special price for the 1st Birthday of Taste of SL.  These shoes are normally 200L and as you can see from the photo, well worth it at that price, but are on sale til Sunday at midnight for 45L a pair.  Pixieplumb Flanagan, Baby Monkey’s owner has even gone farther then this, she has made the fatpack of all 8 pretty pastel colours 50% off the sale price. That means you can get all 8 shoes for 180L, which is less then the normal price for one pair of shoes.  Did I see you tp off already…Smart move! Normally Taste of SL doesn’t start til Saturday but she has these out right now…so go get’em while they are hot! Don’t forget to write Pixieplumb and thank her because prices like this are a GIFT!

Poses – The first two pictures are from Tea Soup their Dreamer pack  – Full front photo – Hush Hush pose, Close up – The Day’s Keep Me Alive pose.

As I mentioned yesterday, Tea Soup is closing so get all their great poses while you can, because today is their last day.

The shoe photo was taken with Magnifique Poses’  Stiletto Poses – Pose 3 …this pose pack right now is on sale for 55L, still on sale from their Moody Monday sale price. Grab it before she realizes it’s not Monday anymore!

Well I guess the first thing you have to talk about is the elephant in the room. Who can ignore an elephant in a room. This great elephant is a pose prop from Magnifique Poses which they are selling this weekend for the low price of 99L. It comes with 5 great poses, this is pose one, and I’ll be showing you the rest in pictures below. This is one of the best most fun pose props I’ve played with in a long time, and I would highly recommend it. I can see a lot of use for it with Indian outfits or African inspired designs.

The outfit I’m wearing is called Leo by Izzie’s. It is selling this weekend for 120L and that is quite a deal. I would pay that for the pants alone, they are gorgeous! You get as well some beautiful bangles, 3 and 4 rings sets or 5 and 6 rings sets for both arms, so you can be as flashy as you want to be. I wore the 5 and 6 ring sets. Go big or go home, that’s my motto. The top comes with a sculpted bottom, and Izzie gives you two copies, one is modifiable, the old fashion way, for those of us with editing skills who like to edit things to fit by hand, and one is equipped with a good resize script for those who prefer to edit their clothing that way. It’s great when a shop gives you options and Izzie’s is great about thinking about their customers first.

This gorgeous skin is from Vogue Body Shop, it is called Jungle Feline Skin and it comes with this natural lip stick option or black lipstick, and both version come with a bald head or a black hair base for a total of 4 skin for the low price of 70L as it’s Taste of SL jungle offering this weekend.  As you can see the leopard spots go down the face, and down the body too. It’s a great wild skin option for nekos and those who just want to have fun while wearing a cat print outfit like this.

Vogue Body Shop actually has two offering, the second one is a set of eyes, which you will be able to see better in photos to come. This shot was taken with the second pose on the pose elephant!

The hair I’m wearing in this shot isn’t part of the Taste of SL sale this week, but it does go great with the outfit. It’s from Calico Ingmann Creations and it’s called Raulyn.  Colour packs are 200L each, including her famous Calico Picks pack which has 20 colours from all the different hair colour packs. a fantastic deal for those of us who like to change hair colour at will.  The fatpack of all 268 colours is just 1,000L.

This is the 3rd pose in the elephant pose prop.

This gives you a good look at Izzie’s outfit with the top is the option without the sculpted bottom. It makes for a more sexy look, especially in this skin with the spots crawling sexily across the belly.  3 cheers to the elephant pose prop and pose 4 for showing it all off so nicely.

Last but definitely not least we come to pose 5 on the elephant and a good look at Vogue Body Shop’s Jungle Feline Eyes. These eyes come in 6 great colours – yellow, green, brown, blue, purple and the colour I’m wearing, gray. This is their second addition to the Taste Of SL this weekend, and it’s one everyone needs to pick up especially at this 50L price tag.  Who doesn’t feel catty at least a few days each month. Consider the eyes fair mood warning. *wicked grin*

Tyr Rozenblum the creative force behind Grixdale is working on a new set of skins. This is good news for us skin addicts for 2 reasons. 1 – We have more of her quality work to look forward to in the future and 2 – She has put her Teagan skin on clearance sale before removing it to make room for newer and presumably better things.

As you can see from above and from pictures to come, Teagan is plenty good enough to find a treasured place in anyones skin collection, Tyr is going to have to work extremely hard to top her. Not that I have moral objections to designers sweating to make me look better, on the contrary I’m very appreciative of their talents and efforts.

The bestest news of all? Yes, bestest is now officially a word in Tapika world.  Deal with it.  Grixdale has not just done your typical half off sale, or knocking it down to 25% of the price, or even 100L per skin nor even 50L per skin. You get all the skin in the Teagan line. All ELEVEN makeups for 400L each. You also get these skins in 2 brow colours, dimple and no dimple options and 2 cleavage options. Added all up that is 8 skin versions of each make up for a huge pack of 88 skins. But it doesn’t stop there. You also get two tattooed hair bases in blonde and brunette. You get 2 eyebrow options on bald wigs and last but certainly not least you get the Teagan shape which is really cute, and mod/copy which all good shapes should be.  Please note, all these photos are taken with my shape, something I do so that my regular readers have a basis to compare skins, but the last make up I have done in the Teagan shape.

As you can see, the Teagan body has lovely lines on it, not too overly shaded, not too muscular. Long and lean, and if your tastes fall that way, this is a good body for you. I am blogging the Caramel skin tone, which is about the middle, but there are darker and lighter all on sale. Demos are available so you can pick what is right for you.

This first makeup shows Teagan with the blonde eyebrows, dimple options and Cheer makeup while the second photo shows the blonde eyebrows again, no dimple option and the Cozy makeup.

From now on all the options shown will be brown eyebrows with no dimples –

Makeup 3 – Cozy 2    Makeup 4 – Faun

Makeup 5 – Faust   Makeup 6 – Firecracker

Makeup 7 – Gold Dust    Makeup 8 – Melon

Makeup 9 – Peacock    Makeup 10 – Plum (My favourite!)

This is me wearing the Teagan shape, wearing the Spirited makeup. Since this is Memorial weekend in the states, I’m giving a little salute to all the troops. Since I’m Canadian, I want to give a special moment of thought to the family of Bombardier Karl Manning who died on Friday in Afghanistan and to the family of all the other men and women who have given their lives on this mission. It takes a special person to risk their lives to bring freedom to strangers, and they make the world a better place.

The gorgeous lingerie I’m wearing is the Taste of SL sale piece of the weekend from Blacklace, it’s a delightful mixture of adult satin with lighthearted polka dots. Of course the sexy look it brings is all adult. You get a bevy of layers so you can wear this set however your heart or mood takes you, or hide it under another outfit for unveiling at the right moment.  It actually comes in 23 pieces, a couple of them tattoos, so your options really are over the top. You can tell the designer wears what she make, so they have thought of everything.  Guys! This is transferable, so you can give it as a gift, and women, you can hint for it as a gift too, because men are always helpless without hints. The price is only 99L as part of Taste of SL, so grab it while it’s a bargain!

The rich looking hair I’m wearing is Gwyneth by Truth, I’m wearing the chocolate, but all Truth’s tones are great. Each 250L hair pack gives you 6 shades, a streaked version, the version you see here and a separate upper and lower hair. If you love it and want the whole thing you can get all the colours for 1500L

Poses – The poses I used today are another special from Taste Of SL – They are from Izzie’s, and they are a set put out for the Memorial Day Taste Of SL, they are called Pin Up Poses and I love them.  They sell for just 120L for 12 great poses.

Front Shot – Pin Up 10,   Back Shot – Pin Up 09,   Face Shots – Pin Up 04,   Teagan Shape Shot – Pin Up 01
