Breathing Time - Silent Dress - Black

Breathing Time is the name of a great small shop with a lot of guys items and a few woman’s/unisex items such as this great Silence Dress which is he selling for 150L each. This smart mesh dress comes in a great jersey knit texture and in 4 great season appropriate shades.  Aside from the black I’m wearing there is a red, a really nice brown and a light gray. Even though I have had a firm “no gray” policy for years, because most of them just leave the people around you wondering when your outfit is going to load, this gray is close enough to white and has enough of a pattern in the texture..aka you can see the knit..that that should not be a worry.

The dress has great wrinkle placement, each one working perfectly to give you the look of a wrap around dress. There is even great detailing behind the dress with the seam lines that would be in a fitted dress of this type drawn in, at the shoulders and on either side of the neck to hem center seam. I love seeing little details like that. They make all the difference to me if the the dress is going to be a keeper or a trasher. It also features this years hottest item in dresswear, the asymetrical hemline. The hem of the dress peaks in the center and then dips down towards the sides of your legs. The alpha layer works very well, I didn’t have to do any body reshaping at all, and there are only a few places that you get that invis line at the dress edges at least on my shape. This being mesh, of course your experiance may vary. Unfortunately there is no demo for you to use to reassure yourself that this dress is going to look as great on you, as I think it does on me.

I also picked up the red watch I’m wearing while I was there.  This is his Chrono watch in matte red. This is one of the nicest most appealing watches I’ve seen in SL and to be honest the first one that has tempted me enough to actually buy it. Yeap, 140,000 + pieces of inventory and I have never bought a watch. Go figure. It reminds me of my rl watch, a titanium number from Denmark. I can’t wear regular watches because I’m allergic to nickle, so even with the leather banned watches, the clasp makes my wrist welt and bleed. My titanium watch has been a godsend. Breathing Time’s watches are highly detailed, minimalist in design, come in 5 great colours, and are only 90L a pop. They come sized for guys, but  there is a resize script in them so it took less then a minute to resize it and move it back into place.

The shoes. One can’t forget the shoes can one. These shoes are new out from Liv-Glam and are called XiuLan. These are fun and funky shoes, with a wide ankle cuff and a long leather fringe falling from the cuff over your foot to cascade to the floor. Add to this high heel that go down to a point worthy of a stiletto and a platform toe and it adds up to fun, funky and sexy shoe. Now because it’s from Liv-Glam it has 44 pantones on a hud, so it’s a HUGE fatpack for 375L. I guess that makes it Fun, Funky, Sexy and a Steal!

This shoe is on the Liv-Glam new hud. I included a photo of it above. As you can see the first option is “Touch for your shoes”. Yeap. You got it. The hud delivers your shoes. With Liv-Glams new huds you never have to keep a dress, a piece of jewelry, a pair of shoes in your inventory again. Just delete after each time you finish wearing an item. The next time you want to wear it, just put on the hud and hit the button and your shoes, dress, necklace and earrings, whatever is delivered to you. Yeah for inventory nirvana.

You can also see from the photo of the hud that these shoes come with 20 skin presets, these can be adjusted to darker or lighter by clicking on the bar on the right of the rainbow selector…just before the 5 arrows where you can save your adjusted skins.  Under those arrows there is a little picture of a microphone. If you click on that you can manually enter your skins RGB numbers, which is what I always do if I have the option. I’m lost when it comes to adding more green or taking away some blue…but give me colour cop and a number adder and I’m good to go.

Below the skins is the nail presets..lots of nail colours to pick from, but to be honest the nails aren’t the center of the show with these shoes not with all you have going on at the ankle and with the leather laces. Still nice to have.

Then below the nails is the one you are really going to like. All the colours this shoe can be. You are going to have fun with that. Lots and lots and lots and lots of fun. I think I played with it for 45 minutes.

The nails I’m wearing are from Fab.Pony, and are called Stripe 2/square tip/red and black. They are on sale for 30L just like everything in the store. It’s a closing sale that has been going on for several months. These are very nice nails that are a great deal. If you like prim nails I suggest a trip to the shop.

Breathing Time - Face

The skin I’m wearing is from Al Vulo and is her latest at The Dressing Room Fusion, Ramona Solstice,  but there are some changes to it. I  just bought it in two skin tones, Sunkiss and Honey, even though there was no demo, because it’s Al Vulo, for cheap. With Al Vulo at just 70L, what can go wrong? Nothing ever had before. She looks great on me.

Well apparently plenty this time. This skin had teeth, but I could have sworn other times when Al Vulo had teeth, she always had non-teeth version in the pack too. Not this time. Now I am the first to admit I have seen a lot of teeth skins used in blogs where they look absolutely cute. I do however think they look horrid in the game, that looking at them from anything but straight on makes them look utterly sad. Judging from the lack of teeth I see on people walking around, I’m not alone in this view.  It’s rare to actually see them on someone just playing the game. The eyeshadow just looked horrible on me too. That’s a first for Al Vulo. The skin itself looked beautiful. If you could just ignore the make up. Of course..that’s kinda hard to do.

Glamorize to the rescue! If you have never been to Glamorize you are in for a treat. This shop is owned by kind of a SL rebel, Yoko Leeeroy. She put out huge numbers of make up tattoos, well done make up tattoos, not horrible ones, at prices you won’t believe. She basically charges 1L a tattoo. If the pack has 7 shadow tattoos in it. It’s 7 lindens. Yes…7 lindens. If the package has 30 lipstick tattoos in it, it costs 30 Lindens. If she doesn’t sell 10 packages of some make up she doesn’t even make up her upload costs. Of course not all the shadows and lipsticks are going to look good with your shape, that would be impossible, but at 1L a tattoo, who care, you just buy them and try them, and toss them if they don’t work for you. It’s not like other stores selling 7 shadows for 350L and you buy them only to find out that style looks like crap on you.

I used the Glamorize Cranberry from her Smartmouth package which contains 40 lovely colours of lipsticks. As you can see this lipstick has just the right amount of shine and a great depth of colour.  For my eyes, I used the mint from her midnight haze eyeshadow collection, which comes in 5 colours. For those of you who are new to SL shapes, if you don’t have as much under eye shadow as I do and want to fix that, you get more shadow under your eye by increasing your eye bags. I have a fairly heavy eyebags on my shape. Only in SL can eyebags be beautiful.

So do I recommend buying this Al Vulo skin…heck YES…just know if you don’t like the lips or the makeup, you can use tattoos to get that out of it. Al Vulo’s skin work is second to none.

The hair I’m wearing is one I have seen in a few ads and I have thought every time I saw it “I want that hair” and I finally found it. I found it at Wasabi Pill and its name is Cookie. A cute name for a cute hair. Wasabi Pill isn’t a place I shop at very often, not because I don’t like her hair, because I most definitely do. I just like to be able to wear whatever colour hair suits me at any particular time, so I mostly shop in stores that have variety natural packs. There is nothing worse than wanting a red hair and only having the hair you want to wear in black, or wanting to be Japanese on a particular day but the hair you want to wear is blonde. I can’t afford to pay for fatpacks on all the hairs I want, I just buy too much hair for that sort of nonsense, so shopping in stores with variety packs is the answer for me.

This hair however I couldn’t resist buying, even if I could only get it in a brown pack. Individual colour packs are 250L each, and the complete pack is  1,500L.

Magnifique Poses – I used her White Box Pose Prop which is now in the discount section for only 49L. A great deal for a nice pose box with 6 adjustable poses

Sharise is a new skin offering from the magic fingers of Sachi Vixen of Adam N Eve fame. It comes in a wide range of skin tones, including the above Caramel, the second darkest, and the Deep Chocolate below.

It takes a lot of skill to perfectly shade very dark skin like this Dark Chocolate, without making a dog’s dinner of it. I’ve seen a lot of designers try and fail. Either the skin has highlights that are too stark and look bad, or the skin really just blends too much together and they look like a featureless blob when seen at any distance at all.

As you can see, this is a gorgeous face, and there are no problems seeing it’s contours and features.  This make up is called Garden. The skin comes with a regular and version of the skin that is called bewbs (and I think we all know what that means…3 cheers for cleavage!),  2 different black hair bases  (regular and wavy, both in black), a second eyebrow version on a tattoo, matching pedicure and manicure on gloves and stockings and on a tattoo.

This is Caramel again, also in Garden. The packs are 949L each, which sounds like a completely random number. Why not 942L…at least 42 is the meaning of life, the universe and everything! There are however 12 make up options, and they are all pretty. One of them is called Bare and it has a very nice light subtle make up that would be easy to wear your favourite make up tattoo’s over. Sachi has thought of everything. You can get a fatpack of all 12 of the skins for 4,999L, a not so random number, and a very good deal. I would so buy that before buying a single, but that’s just me! It’s no secret that I a skin addict.

This is the Olive skin in Garden. I love the Olive skin, I think it’s the most versatile skin in my opinion. I can really see this skin being a great Persian or Lebanese skin with the right shape. No hint of a tan on it, just a beautiful olive skin tone.

This is the last skin tone I have to show you, this is Mocha in the Garden make up, it could be a great Egyptian skin with the right shape, but heck it just looks great on my shape.

To show you some more make up choices, this is Golden Glow in the Mocha skin tone.

This is Hot Pink in the Mocha skin tone.

Hair – The hair I used on all the shots is Eleazia by Likeli. I love the way this hair moves and looks, although I like the black better then the red. You get both colours in a pack for 250L, along with 2 different hair bases, one with and one without a part. I wore the part versions.

Lingerie – I’m wearing the XOXO Blue Satin and Black Lace slip  from Blace Lace & Alpha Male. This is 298L each and comes in no copy transfer for easy gifting. It also comes in yellow, white, pink and purple. Like everyting Black Lace does, this outfit comes on every possible layer in every possible combination so you can fit it with anything else you want to wear. It’s great to have choices!

Poses – I used poses from one of my favourite pose shops this week – Magnifique – They just moved to a newer bigger store…because they needed it. This shop has a huge variety of poses, and I can highly recommend being in her VIP group, as Scarlet Chandrayaan is a very generous soul. The only thing I have to work on is remembering to actually put on my group title when I buy her poses, but I actually have a huge amount of credit saved up even with buying at the regular customer bonus rate.

If you haven’t been to the new shop go, she has a hunt on right now to find 10 poses for 1L each, and it will be a good way to check it all out.

“The pose set I’m using is found in the basement. It’s Model Pose Set #1 – I used the following

I am a member of the Society Of Creative Anacronism in real life, or the SCA for short, which is a group of insane people who get dressed up in historical costumes and do all sorts of crazy events based around the Middle ages and Renaissance the way it should have been. Without the nasty disease, plumbing (although having camped in a lot of horse fields with outhouses in Italian gowns, I can tell you that plumbing is optional) and mass transit. My personea is a woman from about 1510 in the state of Florence. As an Italian, I’m batty about silk so I spend a lot of time in fabric stores in real life, stroking silk, lusting over silk, wanting to buy silk for my fancy dresses. What does that have to do with this?

Well just that I know what silk looks like, raw silk, heavy silk, damask silk, watered silk, all of it, and every time a designer puts out something “silk” in SL I always go and look at it with great expectation. Those expectations are rarely filled. It’s really hard to bring the glow and subtle luxury of silk into SL. Many have tried, many have failed.

So when I saw Izzie’s new release of silk skirts, I was hopeful, because her textures are great, but not real hopeful. When I tried on the skirt though it was love at first sight. Then I went to the shop to try and find something to match it. I found she had a line of silk tops I had completely missed. They were gorgeous too! Puppy love! These textures glow and gleam as only silk can, you can almost feel the warm glide of it under your palm as you wear it.

The skirt comes in 10 colours, 10 is too many to list here and you really should go see them, I’m wearing the dullest one, they all gleam so brightly,  each an incrediably low 120L. There is a fatpack option if you’re smart enough to want them all, for 960L. You get all the layers you could possibly want, and since this is a sculpty skirt, Izzie’s puts in an Alpha layer option which makes your ass disappear and makes the skirt work perfectly no matter what your AO or walk. I’m not wearing that now, I’m just wearing a skirt shape, and the skirt is behaving very well, I didn’t have to edit it into place at all for any of my photos, but I can tell you that the alpha layer is skirt magic! This skirt comes in two ways, by the way, editable, and with a resize script, so however you like to fix things, you can do it!

The silk shirts come in 7 colours, ranging from your basic black and white to a bunch of lovely pastels great for summer, including the minty green I have on.  They are just 60L each or the whole fatpack for 300L. I’m trying to find things I need to wear them with so I can justify getting more for myself. Like my inventory needs more stuff. Kinda like teens need more angst.

While I was in the store I picked up this fantastic necklace and bracelet set.  That is what I love about clothing designers that make jewelry, you could look a million years in different jewelry shops and never find jewelry that matches this so perfectly! At 120L, it adds a lot of Wow for your buck.

Now for the shoes! These great shoes are from Baby Monkey Shoes, and are called Middy Cork Platform Pumps. They are available in 8 pretty pastel colours and are on sale this weekend for an extremely special price for the 1st Birthday of Taste of SL.  These shoes are normally 200L and as you can see from the photo, well worth it at that price, but are on sale til Sunday at midnight for 45L a pair.  Pixieplumb Flanagan, Baby Monkey’s owner has even gone farther then this, she has made the fatpack of all 8 pretty pastel colours 50% off the sale price. That means you can get all 8 shoes for 180L, which is less then the normal price for one pair of shoes.  Did I see you tp off already…Smart move! Normally Taste of SL doesn’t start til Saturday but she has these out right now…so go get’em while they are hot! Don’t forget to write Pixieplumb and thank her because prices like this are a GIFT!

Poses – The first two pictures are from Tea Soup their Dreamer pack  – Full front photo – Hush Hush pose, Close up – The Day’s Keep Me Alive pose.

As I mentioned yesterday, Tea Soup is closing so get all their great poses while you can, because today is their last day.

The shoe photo was taken with Magnifique Poses’  Stiletto Poses – Pose 3 …this pose pack right now is on sale for 55L, still on sale from their Moody Monday sale price. Grab it before she realizes it’s not Monday anymore!

Well I guess the first thing you have to talk about is the elephant in the room. Who can ignore an elephant in a room. This great elephant is a pose prop from Magnifique Poses which they are selling this weekend for the low price of 99L. It comes with 5 great poses, this is pose one, and I’ll be showing you the rest in pictures below. This is one of the best most fun pose props I’ve played with in a long time, and I would highly recommend it. I can see a lot of use for it with Indian outfits or African inspired designs.

The outfit I’m wearing is called Leo by Izzie’s. It is selling this weekend for 120L and that is quite a deal. I would pay that for the pants alone, they are gorgeous! You get as well some beautiful bangles, 3 and 4 rings sets or 5 and 6 rings sets for both arms, so you can be as flashy as you want to be. I wore the 5 and 6 ring sets. Go big or go home, that’s my motto. The top comes with a sculpted bottom, and Izzie gives you two copies, one is modifiable, the old fashion way, for those of us with editing skills who like to edit things to fit by hand, and one is equipped with a good resize script for those who prefer to edit their clothing that way. It’s great when a shop gives you options and Izzie’s is great about thinking about their customers first.

This gorgeous skin is from Vogue Body Shop, it is called Jungle Feline Skin and it comes with this natural lip stick option or black lipstick, and both version come with a bald head or a black hair base for a total of 4 skin for the low price of 70L as it’s Taste of SL jungle offering this weekend.  As you can see the leopard spots go down the face, and down the body too. It’s a great wild skin option for nekos and those who just want to have fun while wearing a cat print outfit like this.

Vogue Body Shop actually has two offering, the second one is a set of eyes, which you will be able to see better in photos to come. This shot was taken with the second pose on the pose elephant!

The hair I’m wearing in this shot isn’t part of the Taste of SL sale this week, but it does go great with the outfit. It’s from Calico Ingmann Creations and it’s called Raulyn.  Colour packs are 200L each, including her famous Calico Picks pack which has 20 colours from all the different hair colour packs. a fantastic deal for those of us who like to change hair colour at will.  The fatpack of all 268 colours is just 1,000L.

This is the 3rd pose in the elephant pose prop.

This gives you a good look at Izzie’s outfit with the top is the option without the sculpted bottom. It makes for a more sexy look, especially in this skin with the spots crawling sexily across the belly.  3 cheers to the elephant pose prop and pose 4 for showing it all off so nicely.

Last but definitely not least we come to pose 5 on the elephant and a good look at Vogue Body Shop’s Jungle Feline Eyes. These eyes come in 6 great colours – yellow, green, brown, blue, purple and the colour I’m wearing, gray. This is their second addition to the Taste Of SL this weekend, and it’s one everyone needs to pick up especially at this 50L price tag.  Who doesn’t feel catty at least a few days each month. Consider the eyes fair mood warning. *wicked grin*

When I was at the shoe show, I came across a shop where every shoe started as a good idea, but the designer just kept adding stuff onto it, until it became too much. Too much danglies, too much glitter, too many straps. If she had stopped and removed half the things from her shoes, they would have been much better. There is only so much gilding a lily needs. Sometimes the genius is knowning how to keep it simple, keep it elegant. This is a lesson that Agnes Finney , of My Precious doesn’t need. This gown called Diantha shows that she has mastered the art of less is more.

Diantha is a miracle of lace and satin that wraps you in elegance and never lets you go.  It has everything a dress needs, rich colours, it comes in 4 colours, the red above, a raspberry pink, a naughty black and an innocent white, quality hand drawn textures, and precision workmanship. It’s a dress that somehow makes you feel regal and sexy all at the same time, and if those aren’t two conflicting emotions, I don’t know what are. Lace is hard in SL, especially lace on prim pieces, the transparency issues are horrid, I’m sure you all know what I mean. Agnes Finney has managed to craft the prim pieces around the top of this dress so that it looks wonderful, no matter what angle I looked at it from. The lace around the hips is wonderfully done too, the cutting of the lace is perfect, there is no ‘thick’ look about the lace texture, no cutting error, no place where when  you spin around the lace doesn’t match.  You can’t slap a dress like this together, it takes time and love, and you can tell when you put it on, this dress got a lot of love.

The skirt is no modify, which at first filled me with terror, as with my big hips I’ve never found a shirt that fit out of the box, but this skirt has the best most exact, easy to follow, resizing script I ever saw. I didn’t need to resize the skirt at all, I just needed to move one skirt prim just a tiny bit up, so it didn’t show skin, I was able to do that in less then 60 seconds using the resizer script, which was a nice surprise. It will be a great boon to people who are not great with editing prims.

What My Precious doesn’t show you in the store ads, and may not like that I’ve showing now, but what the heck, is that this dress without the prim pieces makes for some great sexy lingerie too.  You could easily pay 300 to 400L for lingerie this nice all by itself. It’s yours as part of the dress. A very sexy bonus!

The dress costs 800L or 2800L for the fatpack of 4 colours.  A fair price when it’s backed up with this kind of workmanship and quality, I don’t mind paying for a dress when I know I’m getting something that is going to look this good.

The jewelry I’m wearing today is from the incomparable Alienbear Gupte of Alienbear Gupte’s Designs. It’s the Jennaa Rosa Miss Australia 2011 set, necklace and earrings.  I love this piece, the 3 stone colours worked perfectly with this gown, the skin I wanted and my eye colour.  A trifecta  of jewelry perfection.  It also comes in gold and white gold with just diamonds for those who don’t want this much colour, so there is something for everyone.  I’m betting though that most of you have looked at this necklace and come put with at least 4 outfits you can wear it with. With this variety of colours in it, what won’t it match? Whichever colour you pick, you will get the amazing primwork that has made Alienbear justifiably famous.

The necklace is 400L, for all 256 prims of this beauty…that’s less then 2L a prim. She couldn’t have fit more prims on this if she tried! The earrings are 200L a set, and are 254 prims EACH. They are amazing pieces of tiny prim art, no other word for it, you can look at them for an hour and still find things to go Ooooo at.

The skin I’m wearing is Grixdale’s Super Saturday skin Ren – Clover in the Honey skin tone. It comes with a lip colour close to natural so I wore a tattoo for this shoot, which I’ll talk about later, but it’s a pretty skin with or without a tattoo. The skin is out for 75L right now but could disappear any second, so grab it! You get 4 versions of the skin, Blonde and Brunette brows, Cleavage and non-cleavage. You also get 2 tattoos for platinum and brunette hair bases as well as 2 different bald caps with different shaped eyebrows. A really beautiful skin at a very reasonable price.

The tattoo I got is from Glamorize , when I bought a set, I thought at these prices they are going to be horrid, but at 40 tattoos for 40L, why not give it a try. Well you can see my lip turned out looking pretty darn good! A picture is worth a thousand words. I used the Bloody Mary colour from the Smart Lips collection. When you go to this shop, you won’t believe there can be so many different looks and textures in lips. You would swear they can’t think up any more, yet they keep coming up with them! 3 cheers for a fertile imagination. Be prepared to walk away with quite a few sets of tattoos, but even that won’t break your bank.

This beautiful updo is from Calico Ingmann Creations, and is called Sadira II. It a perfect no flexi solution for putting against a prim upturned collar like this. This style hasn’t been updated so it doesn’t have her new Calico’s picks pack I love so much, but it’s still a terrific style I’ve had as an inventory classic for a long time. It’s 200L a colour pack or 1,000L for the fatpack.

Poses – The poses I used today were from Stance, their limited time offer of 60 poses for 350L. I believe it is up tonight, so you had better hurry up while the getting is good.

Front – Pose 20    Side – Pose 34   Face – Pose 17

The Lingerie shot was done with the Magnifique Poses Heart Chair Pose Prop, this chair was their Moody Monday sale item, but they have not repriced it yet, so it’s still out for 55L, but I would not expect that sale price to last long, so if you want it, get to the store asap!
